Maccabi Aquatics is a newly established full-service swim school which has been set up as part of a community partnership between Maccabi Victoria and Bialik College. We will be based at the Bialik College Gringlas Sports Centre in Hawthorn East Vic and will be commencing operations at the start of the 4th term of 2021. We intend to offer a full suite of programs including: Learn-to-Swim; Junior, Senior & Masters Squads; Water Aerobics; Fitness Squads; and All Abilities classes.

This enables us to invest in running a high quality, extensive range of programs and to place our participants’ needs at the forefront of everything that we do.
We are seeking to appoint a Head Coach with responsibility for the development and delivery of our and the Bialik College squad programs. This is a full-time, senior role and an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor and shape the future direction of this aspect of our business.
The Head Coach will:
Be an energetic, enthusiastic, inspiring and experienced swim coach with an interest in being involved with squad swimmers at all levels of performance - from emerging through to high performance
Be passionate about creating pathways for swimmers and developing them to their full potential
Have excellent relationship skills
Be a highly effective leader and communicator
Have up-to-date technical capabilities and knowledge of swimming best practices at both the LTS and squad levels
Reporting to the Aquatics Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
Development and delivery of effective squad programs and schedules that meet the needs and expectations of participants, and support the goals and needs of Bialik College and the Maccabi Ajax Swimming Club
Ensuring that there is a coherent pathway for swimmers from LTS through to squad programs
Regular assessment of squad members and development and maintenance of competition plans and goals for all competitive squad members
On-deck support to squad members (Juniors, Opens and Masters) at competitions
Management, development and mentoring of assistant coaches
Promotion of the program in the broader community to encourage membership
