P&J Gavin Swimming Schools are seeking a passionate, energetic and effective Swim School Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and contribute to the growth and development of two swim school programs - Van Dyk’s Swimming Academy and Sydenham St Swimming School. This is a new role, working closely with the Swim School Owner, on a full-time basis (38 hours per week).
The Swim School Manager will be highly organised, collaborative and keen to build strong relationships with swimmers, teachers, staff and the wider swimming community. They will have demonstrated experience working closely with and supporting the development of LTS Teachers, as well as a strong ability to multi-task, problem solve, and have high-level administrative skills.
2 years fixed-term - 38 hours per week
Salary: $70,000 + bonuses + superannuation
Locations: Greensborough and Moonee Ponds
Flexibility in working hours: 9am-5pm or 11am-7pm alternating on days or weeks - some weekend work will be required
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Bookings, scheduling, rostering and program planning and administration
Pool deck supervision of classes and related facility maintenance;
LTS Teacher recruitment;
Leadership, mentoring and development of the LTS Teachers;
Reviewing and benchmarking the program with the aim of continuous improvement;
Assessing, tracking and monitoring participants to ensure positive skill and physical development;
Some in-water teaching will be required;
Fostering a positive and fun environment in the pool environment for participants, teachers and carers.
The successful candidate will ideally have:

Strong safety, risk and compliance mindset;
Highly motivated and extremely well-developed communication and inter-personal skills;
Ability to work independently, use initiative and demonstrate good judgment
Up to date knowledge of current trends and professional practices in teaching swimming.
