The Participation & Engagement Manager is responsible for assisting the Chief Executive Officer in managing and directing the operations, policies and communications of Hockey ACT, to ensure effective use of resources and optimise participation, inclusion and the development of the sport of hockey in the ACT. The Participation & Engagement Manager will play a key role ensuring that Hockey ACT delivers the highest possible standard of service delivery to members. The Participation & Engagement Manager will have 3 staff reporting directly. They must be able to manage staff effectively and guide staff to ensure that Hockey ACT’s strategic direction is achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the CEO in overseeing the day to day running of the office.
  2. Assist the CEO in the preparation of Hockey ACT Board meeting papers and minutes.
  3. In the absence of the CEO, assist the Finance Manager with regular payment approvals.
  4. In conjunction with the CEO, manage staff to help the organisation achieve its Strategic objectives within Participation, Inclusion and Communication.
  5. Work with clubs and members to ensure ongoing sustainability of programs and ensure the ongoing financial sustainability of Hockey ACT’s member clubs.
  6. Organise and ensure appropriate process and procedures are followed for all HACT Disciplinary Tribunal, Complaint and Appeal matters.
  7. Recommend and implement recommendations that improve the standard of Hockey ACT competitions and member experience.
  8. Manage outgoing communications to members and general public. Oversee development and implementation of Hockey ACT communications plan.
  9. Oversee coordination of Canberra Chill Program: All business and communications, including sales, sponsorship, memberships, ticketing and events.
  10. Develop understanding, awareness and procedures for greater inclusion and participation opportunities within the ACT and surrounds.
