Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) is the national body responsible for Australia’s successful participation in the Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Youth Games. CGA’s purpose is twofold: to drive Australia’s success at the Commonwealth Games; and to create opportunities for communities to connect and celebrate our achievements. CGA strives to be the number one nation in the Commonwealth while inspiring and uniting communities through a sense of national pride.
CGA works collaboratively with its member sports, stakeholders and other sport system partners to support Australia’s athletes in the pursuit of their sporting dreams which will culminate in the next Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022.
The Executive & Office Administrator plays an integral role in the smooth operation of the CGA Board of Directors, its Executive Team and staff, as well as CGA’s office and systems. It is responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective processes and systems are implemented and managed to deliver excellent service levels to CGA staff, Board Directors, member organisations and stakeholders.
The Executive & Office Administrator maintains high standards of office presentation and ensures that systems management and office administrative projects and tasks are taken care of to provide a positive, efficient, effective and safe working environment.
The role also provides high level confidential administrative and governance support to the CEO and Board and coordinates CGA meetings, functions and events, including travel logistics and other general meeting requirements.
The Executive & Office Administrator builds excellent stakeholder relationships with a proactive, can-do attitude. As part of the small CGA team, the Executive & Office Administrator has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to CGA’s strategic priorities across a number of functional areas in support of CGA’s 2018-2026 strategic plan.
To be considered for this role you will have demonstrated experience in the management of an office and the associated administrative fuctions for a small to medium sized business. You will be a quick thinker, able to solve problems on the run, thrive under pressure and be prepared to work hands-on, doing ’whatever it takes’ to get the job done. You love to organise and be organised, are proactive and able to manage competing priorities and activities at once whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be a confident and professional communicator with an ability to swiftly build relationships and credibility with stakeholders including Executive, Board Members and high profile sportspeople. Knowledge of Board processes, procedures and governance practices is essential, and experience as an an Executive Assistant or Company Secretary is highly desirable. A background in a sporting or not-for profit environment and a passion for the Commonwealth Games sports and athletes would be an advantage.
