Football Australia, the national governing body for football, is currently seeking a full time Implementation Lead – World Cup Legacy Programs, starting March 2021 and based in Sydney.
Reporting to the Head of Women’s Football, World Cup Legacy & Inclusion, the successful candidate will be a key member of the Women’s Football department, targeted with driving successful outcomes as identified in the World Cup Legacy & Inclusion Programs. This role is accountable to drive and execute key projects outlined within the ‘XI Principles For The Future of Australian Football’, and the Women’s World Cup Legacy Plan at Football Australia.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the Women’s World Cup Legacy internal operational working group at Football Australia
Provide input and challenge to thought leadership and engage with stakeholder groups to maximise outcomes
Prepare and analyse data and reports, providing recommendations for strategic input
Develop, track and evaluated organisation funding proposals and submissions
Operationally execute the Women’s World Cup Legacy Plan to maximise the benefits of hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
Lead the design, development, implementation and evaluation of projects outlined within the Women’s World Cup Legacy plan
Work with key expert partners to develop robust and evidence-based programs to increase the number of women at all levels of football
Effectively deliver on the stakeholder engagement strategy, organising regular community engagement opportunities, coordinating the scheduling of meetings and supporting documentation
Develop internal and external processes to streamline operations and foster shared learning within the football community
Lead stakeholder engagement and communications throughout program consultation, design and implementation phases
Facilitate relevant stakeholder responses and/or input into projects, programs and reports
Establish clear and realistic timeframes for stakeholder input on major project, ensuring that relevant information is provided in a timely manner
Prioritise and sequence the development and implementation of projects and initiatives
Responsible for drafting key evaluation reports for the Women’s World Cup Legacy plan
Manage and liaise with key expert partners involved in the design and evaluation phases of program implementation
Attend and contribute to relevant meetings with members, external partners and stakeholders
Knowledge, skills and behaviour that is required:
5-6 years of project, management and related experience
MBA or degree in business, sports or project management
Proven experience in, and/or understanding of the gender equity field
Highly structured in thinking and an exceptional written communicator
High degree of organisational, analytical and presentational skills
Resourceful with an exceptional attention to detail
Expensive knowledge of and passion for progressing
Experience with design and program implementation
Organised and methodical with strong project management capabilities
Proven ability to thrive in consultative, collaborative environments and manage multiple stakeholders affectively
Proven ability to work autonomously and with a project-based approach
Experience with planning and executing strategic initiatives
A critical thinker with natural instincts for using data and evidence as a foundation for developing frameworks and programs
Good research skills and techniques
Ability to work to tight deadlines and work with staff across departments
Flexible and agile to successfully respond to a diversity of one-off projects
