Tennis West is the governing body of tennis in Western Australia and manages all aspects of the sport from growing grass roots participation and community to developing talented players.

Tennis West is a not-for-profit sports association headquartered at the State Tennis Centre at Burswood.

Reporting to the Board of Tennis West, the CEO role requires a dynamic person who can drive the strategic outcomes and operational aspects of the business and communicate a vision of the future to all stakeholders. The CEO will take responsibility for the administrative and managerial activities of Tennis West.  They will lead a committed team and shape a high performing organisation through the execution of the Tennis West vision “To Build Thriving Tennis Communities in Western Australia.”

The CEO role also includes the position of General Manager of the ATP Cup Perth.  Together with the Tournament Director you will be responsible for first class execution and continued growth of the event; and will be accountable to the Tennis Australia (TA) Head of Major Events.

Tennis West seeks a CEO who can drive and deliver the strategic direction of the organisation and long-term business planning and requires an individual who can articulate and demonstrate their ability, experience and skills in:

  • Dynamic and proactive leader who can drive results
  • Ability to communicate & influence effectively with all levels of business, government and media
  • Well-developed strategic planning and implementation and financial management skills
  • Ability to develop, grow and maintain key relationships
  • Building, managing and leading successful high performing teams
  • Previous P&L management experience
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of the workings and demands of a sports/ membership based organisation
  • Ability to lead a state body which fits under the banner of a national body

You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.

An understanding of sports management in a member-based organisation, post graduate qualifications together with some experience in event management would be highly desirable.
