The Corporate Services Portfolio is comprised of the directorates of Finance, General Counsel, Governance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing & External Relations, Planning & Strategic Management, Properties & Facilities, Student Engagement & Services, and Student Administration.

The Sports Program Coordinator position is accountable for the management & delivery of efficient and effective ACU Sport clubs, Social Sport, Australian University Sport competitions and a number of key new initiatives including the new Aquatic program on the Banyo Campus.

The role will lead a team of program staff, coaches and club administrators to create an environment that maximizes participation and enjoyment of competition and program participates (students staff and the local community ) through the development of operational processes polices, regulations and procedures for ACU’s Sport programs:

  • ACU Sport Clubs including our affiliate Club Brothers Rugby
  • Social & Community sport programs
  • The new ACU Banyo aquatic program
  • ACU’s involvement in the Australian University games competitions
  • Place Management / game day operations on the Banyo Campus
  • Supervision of the TRACK a new space for the home of ACU Sport on Campus

More specifically the role entails:

  • Delivering the ACU Sport’s programmatic strategy and plans within the broader Student Engagement and Services Strategy, to guide the work and priorities for Qld
  • Building Sport, Health and Wellbeing programs in an innovative and adaptive way, continually improving the scope and depth of the programs across all ACU’s campuses
  • Seeking approval for business plan and deliver a new aquatic program using the recently heated ACU Banyo pool
  • Coordinating the social media & communications content of the Qld programs internally and externally
  • Opportunity to lead ACU Sport in Qld
  • Focus on continuing to attract students, staff and local community to the Campus, Sport clubs and Social Sport programs
  • Opportunity to build a new aquatic program on the Campus with the recent renovation of the ACU Banyo 25M Pool

You will need to have:

  • Completion of a relevant postgraduate degree; or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience in operations and program planning & delivery
  • Experience in building and developing sporting programs for the Higher Education sector and specifically Aquatic programs
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands, achieve required outcomes and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience in Place Management principles for sporting facilities
  • Strong leadership experience managing staff and relationship with Campus staff
  • Knowledge of current social marketing strategies though Digital mediums

Total remuneration valued to $105,196 - $113,853 pa, including salary component $88,892 - $96,207 pa (Higher Education Worker Level 7), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
