About Moira Recreational Facilities

The Moira Recreational Facilities consist of nine facilities in total, made up of three all-year-round and six seasonal sites, namely:

  • Numurkah Outdoor Pool
  • Yarrawonga Foreshore Kiosk & Splash Park
  • Yarrawonga Outdoor Pool
  • Cobram Outdoor Pool
  • Nathalia Outdoor Pool
  • Strathmerton Outdoor Pool

Key Elements of the Role

The Outdoor Pool Team Leader will maintain a broad knowledge of centre programs and services whilst at the same time managing the following functions whilst on shift; customer service, safety, staff rosters and breaks, kiosk, plant operations, cash balancing, customer education and general maintenance and cleaning.

This is role is also available in a casual capacity.

The Seasonal Outdoor Pool Team Leader will:

  • Handle customer complaints and requests
  • Manage staff in a fair and transparent manner
  • Roster staff to ensure the safe running of centre and adherence to aquatic supervision requirements
  • Manage staff to adhere to safe aquatic supervision
  • Ensure all staff are trained in and maintain knowledge of emergency procedures
  • Manage staff to ensure the quality of service and supervision at the pool
  • Manage kiosk including stock control and safe food handling
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the centre’s Emergency Action Plan
  • Act as chief warden in an emergency situation evacuating the centre if required
  • Ensure all incident reporting is completed and entered
  • Ensure Pools remain within health standards and testing is carried out accordingly

  • Proven skills and knowledge in pool operation
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is highly advantageous

Qualifications

Mandatory Pre-Requisite Qualifications

  • HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid
  • SISSS00111 - Pool Lifeguard
  • 22282VIC - Course in the Emergency Management of Asthma in the Workplace
  • 22300VIC - Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
  • PUAOPE010 - Operate an automated external defibrillator in an emergency
  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Highly Desirable Qualifications

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • SISSS00110 - Aquatic Technical Operator Skill Set
  • PUAFER005 - Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation (Fire Warden Certificate)

  • a national criminal history check

  • ACF Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate (completion online prior to commencement)
  • Two reference checks.
