To deliver socially inclusive sport and physical activity for vulnerable and disadvantaged Indigenous persons in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and to increase participation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in basketball throughout Queensland.
The following list of duties/responsibilities is not exhaustive and provided as a guide. Other duties may be required from time to time:
Oversee and manage the Basketball Queensland Indigenous Pathways Program (BQIPP) which includes the delivery of free activities across Queensland;
Assist community-based teams to participate in Regional Basketball Tournaments, State Championships and/or the Australian Indigenous Basketball National Tournament;
Reporting and grant acquittals;
Applying for funding to support the BQIPP;
Assist local communities to identify and apply for funding to support inclusion in basketball activities;
Assist in the education and training of Basketball Queensland staff and member associations to reduce racial discrimination and promote greater diversity;
Assist in the development of policies and procedures for Basketball Queensland's diversity and inclusion programs; and
Adhere to Basketball Queensland policies and risk management strategies.
