SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

General

  • In consultation with the Technical Director, develop and implement a Canberra United playing philosophy for the WWL team and underpinning age grades.
  • In consultation with the Technical Director, develop the overarching football plan for the Canberra United program.
  • Contribute to budget development for the Canberra United Program.
  • Perform all duties as required by the CEO and Technical Director.
  • Consult with Capital Football’s Technical Director in relation to the technical direction and development of women’s football in the ACT.
  • Establish a variety of development opportunities for talented female players including the traditional programs (WWL, Winter Program and CUA) and opportunities to train and play with male programs and competitions.
  • Actively identify talented players and promote them to FFA for consideration in National Teams.
  • Be the point of contact between Capital Football and ACTAS, and manage the players on ACTAS Scholarships.

Canberra United in the WWL

  • Recruit and prepare a competitive 1st team that aspires to finals football.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, management, strategic, tactical and technical direction to the team.
  • Provide support and advice to the coaching staff.
  • Analyse matches of opposing teams as part of match preparation.
  • Provide reports to Capital Football’s Technical Director as requested.
  • Monitor the playing, fitness, availability, progress and well-being of all players.
  • Attend all matches, training sessions, camps and meetings of the team.
  • Provide advice and assessment of performances of the team to Capital Football’s Technical Director as requested.

Canberra United Academy and Winter Program

  • Manage and enhance the CUA and Winter Program, including review of the overarching football plan
  • Deliver training sessions for the CUA team in the NPLW first grade and supplementary training for NPLW players in the Winer Program
  • Monitor the playing, fitness, availability, progress and well-being of all players.
  • Attend NPLW matches to identify players.
  • Lead and assess the CUA coaches and assist them develop while providing a learning environment aligned to the Canberra United playing philosophy and football plan.
  • Engage with NPLW coaches to identify players and build a network of coaches supporting the development of young players.
  • Prepare a report on the program, including outcomes, opportunities and challenges.

Essential Requirements

  • AFC A-License/UEFA A-License
