The position of Sport Operations Coordinator - Start Up Kidz reports directly to the GM Sport and has responsibility for on-the-ground management of the Start Up Kidz pilot program in NSW. This includes attendance at all NSW Start Up Kidz programs including Newcastle, Hornsby, Wollongong, Orange and Sydney Olympic Park. The Start Up Kidz program is a national program in which children with a disability are given the opportunity to explore a range of adaptive sports in a safe and supportive environment, through a series of both school holiday camps and term-based programs. Primary school aged children are given the opportunity to be assessed by disability sports advisors and participate in a range of disability sports. Camps will run in six locations across NSW in partnership with key external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Attendance and on the ground management of all NSW Start Up Kidz programs for up to 6-months in consultation with the CEO and GM Sport.
  • Operations, logistics and social media of the NSW programs
  • Reporting and acquittals as per the program’s grant requirements
  • Assist GM Sport as required with sport and event operations

Key Tasks:

This role is responsible for on-the-ground management and logistics of all aspects of the NSW Start Up Kidz pilot program, including, but not limited to:

  • Working with key external partners and staff in the delivery of the project
  • Coordinating the training of volunteers who will be involved in the delivery of the program
  • On the ground management and coordination of delivery partners with the venue
  • Managing participant check in
  • Monitoring and escalating any problems or concerns with the roll out of the program
  • Project evaluation and reporting (internally and for grant acquittal and key external partners)

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • National Police Check
  • Working with children check
  • Drivers Licence
  • Right to work in Australia
