About the Centre
Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre is a fantastic facility with a 50 meter heated outdoor pool, heated outdoor 25 meter pool, heated indoor 25 meter pool, A perfect teaching environment for all our learners. All our pools have the capacity for running internal programs and external bookings, with enough lanes for the public to enjoy their lap swimming.

Key Elements of the Role
The Teacher in Charge will be committed to forming trusted and effective relationships with our Swimming Lessons members. They will ensure programs are conducted at the highest standard and the safety of our participants is paramount.
The position requires a passionate and motivated person who is committed to leading our team to deliver the highest quality of swimming and water safety education. They will hold knowledge of all aspects of teaching swimming and water safety. They will provide leadership to Swimming Teachers through training, mentoring and supervision. They will also have a strong communication skill which enables them to communicate well with parents, students, swim teachers and management.
Working with Children, Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate (Completion upon successful application)
- First Aid Level 2 and CPR
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant Aquatics
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics for People with Disabilities is highly desirable

- A national criminal history check;
- An international criminal history check where applicants have worked overseas;
- Holding or obtaining a Working with Children Clearance/ equivalent in accordance with state/ territory laws;
- ACF Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate (completion online prior to commencement)
- Two reference checks.
