This position will be responsible for developing and managing the overall planning and delivery of the Alice Springs Masters Games and work in collaboration with the Director, Multisport to ensure efficiencies across both the Masters and Arafura Games are achieved.
This will initially be a fixed term contract until December 2020
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Create a high performing, collaborative team environment supporting others to achieve
Understand the complexities of delivering multisport events that must comply with sport rules and guidelines
Manage an event budget and ensure opportunities and efficiencies across both multisport events are maximised
Represent NTMEC at face to face Ministerial meetings and other stakeholder meetings as required.
Represent NTMEC and/or support event specific spokespeople to confidently deliver event messaging to industry and the media
Draft Ministerials, Board Papers and other correspondence as required
Develop and implement a cost effective security and transport model which minimises impacts to the community where possible.
Work collaboratively with the wider NTMEC to progress opportunities and efficiencies across the business and be available and engaged in all major events across the portfolio.
Work collaboratively with emergency services and other key operational and medical stakeholders to deliver safe and secure events with operational risk identified and mitigated.
Bring together key community and event stakeholders involved in the delivery of the Masters Games in an integrated best practice approach.
Develop policies relating to Games service levels ensuring requirements are scoped with relevant departments/suppliers.
Collect and analyse information to prepare post Games evaluation and forecasts for future events.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
Experience in the operational development, management and delivery of multi-sport events
Proven ability to lead a motivated team to deliver high quality events
Demonstrated capacity to manage complex, concurrent time constrained projects
Demonstrated experience in identifying and mitigating risk, especially in complex environments
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate within Government and Corporate environments
Desirable
A sound knowledge and understanding of the Northern Territory.
Tertiary and post graduate qualifications in a relevant field
