About the role

The Sydney Roosters are seeking a Sponsorship and Sales Executive to grow sponsorship and drive revenue opportunities. This position reports to the Sponsorship & Sales Manager. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently within a team in identifying suitable and realistic corporate opportunities. Preparing sales information and securing partnerships for the Club will be vital to performing in this role. You will also possess the ability to present confidently to prospective clients. 

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Meet or exceed the net profit budgeting contribution from the Sponsorship and Sales Department
  • Assist in setting the annual budget for Sales and Sponsorship
  • Identify, target and develop business relationships that are aligned with the strategy and support year on year growth
  • Ensure that all partnerships being taken to market are consistent with the budgeted plans and the year on year growth targets
  • Build and maintain key client relationships to ensure expectations are exceeded
  • Build a network of new business contacts for transactional sales or partnership leads
  • Provide detailed sales analysis to ensure cost servicing margins are upheld
  • Manage profitability of line items to ensure contractual inclusions are consistent with the Sponsorship, Hospitality and Event Budgets
  • Weekend work will be required at Sydney Roosters events, promotions and games.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in sales
  • Relevant tertiary education
  • A good sound understanding of sponsorship, event and corporate hospitality
  • A solid understanding of the sporting industry 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  •  A proven track record of sales success and business development.
