Tennis Victoria (TV) is going through an exciting period of transformation, we have expanded our team to support the delivery of the national tennis strategy and have renewed our ambition to deliver outstanding tennis experiences for players and spectators alike.  To help us achieve this we are looking for a dynamic and proactive Head of Operations to join the TV Leadership Team (TVLT). 

Reporting to the TV CEO, this newly created role will see you bring your Finance and HR expertise to the TVLT and support the CEO in the development and delivery of the TV strategy.  Additionally you will take responsibility for management of the Tennis Australia Shared Services relationship and provide leadership both for your team and the broader organisation.

About the role

  • Support the CEO in the wider leadership of Tennis Victoria as an active member of the TV Leadership Team (TVLT)
  • Engage in the development of the TV strategy, ensuring it is financially achievable and practically deliverable
  • Lead the annual business planning and budgeting process
  • Support the CEO in ongoing the financial management and planning of the organisation.
  • Manage the relationship with Tennis Australia (TA) Shared Services (Finance, IT, HR, Legal and Tennis Integrity)
  • Provide HR knowledge and expertise to the TVLT to ensure that the wellbeing of the TV team is strong and engagement is high
  • Support the development and delivery of a Culture strategy for TV that provides a clear vision of the values and behaviours expected of the team
  • Contribute to the development & implementation of a robust performance management & personal development process
  • Develop and lead a high performing Operations team
  • Provide support to the Board and Sub Committees to ensure effective & efficient governance process

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring;

  • Dynamic and proactive leader who can work through others to deliver results
  • Well-developed strategic planning and implementation skills
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and P&L management experience
  • Demonstrated HR expertise that delivers a highly engaged team and high performing business
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Proven experience building, managing and leading successful high performing teams
  • Ability to develop, grow and maintain key relationships
  • Good understanding of the workings and demands of a sports/membership based organisation
  • Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Agile thinking with the ability to positively adapt to change
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with evidence of innovative thinking to develop of new initiatives and income generation
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
