It is an exciting time for tennis in Australia and we have ambitious plans to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. To do this we are transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of making it more accessible, to more people, more often. To help us achieve our plan we are looking for a Leagues Coordinator to join our team.

Reporting to the Tournaments and Competitions Manager, as the Leagues Coordinator your primary focus will be delivering the weekly summer and winter, senior and junior competition in the North East and Eastern Tennis Associations. You will be responsible for the delivery of Tennis SA events including Country Carnival, Les Tapp Junior Inter Association and Compass Draw. Additionally, you will take an active involvement in the delivery of the Foundation Cup Pathway including the State Foundation Cup event. You will be required to educate prospective deliverers on the use of league manager and national player ratings, whilst adopting the national guidelines and principles.
In this role you will:

  • Work with the Leagues Lead and Competition Advisory Group (CAG) to plan season dates, nomination timelines and procedures prior to each competition season
  • Ensure thorough and comprehensive communication with clubs on all competition matters
  • Create draws and fixtures for each season in communication with the CAG and Clubs.
  • Work with internal departments at Tennis SA and Tennis Australia to ensure a thorough and targeted process of collating qualitative and quantitative data in regards to female participation in competitions.
  • Engage people from other sports to understand female engagement strategies across different State and National Sporting Organisations
  • Manage all aspects of the Country Carnival including program development, communication with Associations and set up of operations at host venues.
  • Support in the delivery of the Foundation Cup Pathway including regionally based events, State Foundation

What you will bring to this role:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering sporting competitions across various platforms (tennis or non-tennis)
  • Experience working with key stakeholders such as volunteers, club committees, coaches etc.
  • Exceptional people skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative, prioritise tasks and deal with conflict
  • Ability to learn sport specific competition software and systems to create efficient processes
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Organised and methodical in professional approach to detail
  • Tertiary qualifications in sports management, business, communications or a similar field would be highly regarded
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
