Our experts work in collaboration with partners within the national sporting system to create and deliver high performance services and environments to prepare athletes and coaches for international competition. 

About the role

NSWIS has an exciting opportunity for 2x part-time physiotherapist to be an integral part of the NSWIS team servicing multiple sports. We are seeking driven physiotherapists to implement a proactive clinical care model to allocated sports to ensure NSWIS athletes are available to train and compete. The physiotherapist role is primarily responsible for developing and delivering ‘world class’, evidence-based, proactive clinical services to athletes for the NSWIS athletes through the identification, prevention, treatment and management of injury and illness

About you

You will have:

  • Several years’ experience in the provision and application of physiotherapy services and implementing a proactive clinical service delivery.
  • Experience in high performance sport across different sports and/or levels of the high-performance athlete pathway.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian high-performance sport system and proven capability to work in an integrated multi-disciplinary environment with high performance teams including coaches and athletes.
  • Proven ability to devise return to play plans for complex injuries and engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure world class delivery of rehabilitation plans.
  • Commitment to continuing education and upskilling, and commitment to becoming and maintaining standard as a world class sports physiotherapist. 
  • Knowledge of recent research findings, technological advances and practices and how these may apply to elite athletes in a high-performance environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of a proactive clinical care model and its role in the prevention of injury/illness, athlete availability, competition load principles and knowledge of training

Employer and Other Details

These 2x part-time positions (0.6FTE), are attracting a competitive salary, plus 9.5% superannuation.  The contract period for this role is up to 31 December 2020 in line with the Olympic cycle.  An extension into the next cycle is possible should the role/funds still be available, and services be satisfactory.

This is an identified position requiring a Working with Children Check.
