After a $27.3 million redevelopment the Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre was completed in September 2018 and offers a state of art 24 hour gym and spinning studio as well as a multipurpose and group fitness room. The seasonal outdoor aquatic area comprises of a heated 50 metre pool, 20m learn to swim pool, two waterslides and a children's waterplay pool with water features and slide. The Centre is open all year round with the aquatic areas open from 1 October through to 30 April and all pools heated.
In conjunction with the Operations Director/Coordinator, the Aquatic Programs Team Leader will be responsible for coordinating and delivering school swimming lessons, school carnivals, all other aquatic bookings, swim lessons, birthday parties and look at implementing new aquatic programming such as squads, water running, stroke correction and water aerobics. They will also liaise with local sporting and community groups in order to maximise usage of aquatic area's. The Aquatic Programs Team Leader will also coordinate summer events across Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre, Pascoe Vale Outdoor Pool and Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool.
The Aquatic Programs Team Leader will maintain an ongoing commitment to personal and professional development in swimming lessons and administration. The Aquatic Programs Team Leader will assist in other areas of the facility including but not limited to; lifeguarding, Duty Management, customer service and dry programming. They will also play an instrumental role in promoting Watch our Water policy and educating staff and patrons.
The person will possess and maintain a complete knowledge of all aspects of teaching swimming and water safety and is committed to training, mentoring and supervising swim teachers and birthday party hosts. The successful applicant will have aspirations to be a leader in community recreation.
The role is full-time fixed term until 17 April 2020.

In-depth knowledge of the AUSTSWIM and AquaSafe programs
Minimum of 2 years Aquatic education teaching
