We have an exciting opportunity available at Princes Park Carlton Bowling club.

Our Club was established in 1889 and we are an integral part of the Carlton community. We have a strong community focus, and cater to a diverse demographic of members and guests who reside in the surrounding areas and beyond.

Our Club is seeking a dynamic, energetic and engaging Operations Manager to work with our committee and staff to collectively drive and build the business. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to make their mark and take our Club to the next level. Operations consist of competitive and social bowls, along with food, beverage, functions and events.

Key responsibilities include, although not limited to;

  • Lead the events team and execute the operational plan of the Club’s committee
  • Drive high levels of staff performance while providing our customers and members with an overall customer service experience
  • Ensure we meet all our legal requirements that are set by local, state and federal governments
  • Build the business of our Club, via marketing particularly in the recruitment of bowlers and social members
  • Promote participation of all walks of life and improve visability of lawn bowls
  • Provide leadership and a positive perception of the club in line with club values and Code of Conduct

The successful applicant will have the following;

  • Current Victorian RSA and at least 3 years’ experience in a management role
  • Have a proven ability to understand a profit and loss statement, budgets and balance sheet
  • Drive innovation throughout the business to minimise costs and improve efficiency in all aspects of the Club
  • Proficiency in MYOB, Microsoft Office and IT is essential
  • Be a focused, energetic and engaging Operations Manager with great communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational and management skills with a willingness and ability to work with the Club’s committee, staff and members
  • Build and form relationships with new and current suppliers
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of all communication platforms such as mail chimp, website and social media
  • Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents ONLY
  • Victorian Drivers Licence would be preferred
  • Working with Children’s Check is a requirement of employment
  • Victorian Police check is required
