At Tennis Australia (TA) plans are well underway to deliver the most spectacular summer of tennis in 2020.  The Australian Open (AO) and AO Series Events will be back bigger and better than ever.  On top of this we are launching the ATP Cup, a premier team event held across Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, that will see the world’s top male players take to the court in the lead up to the AO.
 
To help us deliver on our ambitious plans we have an exciting opportunity for two Event Operations Coordinators to join our major events team.  Reporting to the Event Operations Lead, Brisbane support the development, planning and operational implementation of the ATP Cup (Brisbane) and Brisbane WTA event in accordance with TA policies, procedures and protocols.

In this role you will:

  • Assist TQ Head of Events/ATP Cup Brisbane Event Operations Manager in creation of annual events calendar
  • Management of planning and delivery of all event services (i.e. security, cleaning, traffic management, accreditation, IT requirements, AV requirements, live scoring, electronic line calling etc)
  • Design and delivery of all event site overlays, including bump-in and out plans
  • Co-create the Tennis Queensland events engagement strategy including but not limited to leveraging major events for grassroots participation
  • Oversight of event volunteer and staff recruitment programs

 
What you will bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated experience managing all aspects of events (preferably sport) from a commercial perspective
  • Understanding of financial management principles, practices and control mechanisms to support cost-effective management
  • Ability to set priorities, plan work programs and schedules and work to strict guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a small to medium-sized group of permanent staff
  • Self-starter with plenty of initiative, an ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia and Tennis Queensland events and functions
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
