Position Summary

The Head of Media, Communications & Public Relations is responsible for managing all media, communications and PR relationships and requirements for the both the corporate and high performance divisions of the organisation.

  • The role is responsible for liaison with the NBL on all accreditation and compliance requirements, and in coordinating all major Club announcements.
  • The role is responsible for developing and implementing the PR and Communications plans, and ensuring the effective execution of those plans and management of any PR issues.
  • The role is responsible for the development and management of social media and Bullets TV content channels, including planning, producing and distributing all content across these channels.



  • Development of the Annual Communications Plan in conjunction with the Executive and Management staff as required
  • Development and Implementation of Monthly and Weekly plans
    • Writing of Press Releases
    • Writing of additional content re High Performance and Community, including:
    • Game Previews
    • Game Reviews
    • Player Interviews and additional content
  • Management of Social Media requirements relative to Consumer, High Performance and Community programs, including game day content for home and away games (inclusive of statistics, highlights, and score updates)


  • Manage all Media relationships in conjunction with Executive Management
  • Development of weekly media schedules
  • Coordination of all required Press Conferences, including:
    • Practice
    • Games
    • Community
    • Special events
  • Liaison with NBL re all official announcements and league requirements
  • Coordination of Media accreditation process with NBL
  • Coordination of Media at home and away games, and hosting of all Media at all home games
  • Travel with the team to all away fixtures
  • Coordination of all Player and Coach media requests in conjunction with Team Operations Coordinator

Public Relations

  • Development of Annual PR plan
  • Implementation of PR plan, including:
    • Development of weekly activity plans
    • Identifying PR opportunities externally and internally
    • Liaison with internal and external partners to deliver PR outcomes
    • Management of PR issues on a case by case basis as required, in consultation with Executive Management
  • Liaison with NBL on any relevant PR requirements

Social Media & Bullets TV

  • Development of Social Media & Bullets TV content channels
  • Creation of content plans including:
    • Story planning
    • Execution Ideas
    • Production – filming, head to camera interviews, additional content capture
    • Editing – creation of finished digital content, including video editing and publishing
    • Distribution planning and execution
