Driving continual improvements in processes and programs is paramount to this role, in order to achieve the vision of Tennis ACT to get ‘more people to play more tennis, more often’. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and helping establish tennis facilities in growth corridors.   You will also be responsible for club development, specifically as it relates to accessibility, management models and their ongoing sustainability (inclusive of their asset repair and maintenance plans); ensuring Tennis ACT monitor and add value to key venue projects across the ACT and region. Key to the success of this role will be to increase capacity of all tennis facilities, where outcomes are driven by effective venue operations, industry education and local government engagement.

About the role
Reporting to the Tennis ACT CEO, you will support our team in the following areas:

  • Lead the strategy and establishment of key facilities in growth corridors of ACT and region liaising closely with ACT Government and NSW councils as appropriate.
  • Promote the Tennis Australia (TA) National Court Rebate and Facility Loans program; working with key stakeholders to develop funding mixes that maximise Tennis’s investment in facilities.
  • Provide education, leadership and consultancy to all levels of government regarding business plans, tennis development and the implementation of operational structures to develop tennis.
  • Lead community consultation on the development and redevelopment of tennis facilities within the ACT and region.
  • Act as the key liaison for all stakeholders at the Canberra Tennis Centre (ie. tenants, staff and Board) in relation to the planned major project schedules.

About you
What you will bring to the role:

  • Ability to actively represent the needs of Tennis in a range of forums, contribute to technical and services design development and to negotiate effectively
  • Excellent project management and superior organisational skills with proven experience planning and scheduling work.
  • Proven leadership and strategic management skills with an ability to engage with colleagues.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, evaluation and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to set clear priorities and meet deadlines
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, sports management or sports marketing is desirable
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
