An Overview...

Based on the success of AFL Club Academies in the Northern States, the AFL has provided funding for all Victorian clubs to run talent development academies for boys and girls aged 11-15 in allocated zones. Melbourne Football Club has been allocated Melbourne's South East corridor (Casey/Dandenong/Mornington Peninsula) and Alice Springs, NT.

The Position...

Do you have an eye for talent, passion for AFL and want to pursue a career within the AFL? Well this could be the right opportunity for you! The Melbourne Football Club are seeking six Talent Identification Officers to join the Melbourne Academy. The primary responsibility of these roles will be to identify, report and recommend appropriate AFL talent within the Melbourne Academy/Dandenong Southern Stingrays geographical boundaries in line with the established talent identification framework. You will be required to attend allocated local football fixtures throughout 2019 season (South East Juniors or Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League) and attend the AFL South East Championships (representative football) as required. You will attend Talent ID department meetings when required and partake In talent ID workshops aimed to educate officers on South East talent landscape and key focus areas when identifying and assessing football talent. These roles will report Into the Melbourne Academy Talent Manager and have key relationships with Melbourne Academy coaching and Talent ID staff.

The Ideal candidate...

You will have a demonstrated ability to work in a team, strong attention to detail and analytical skills. You will have appropriate IT skills for compiling talent reporting and knowledge of the regions talent pathway programs. You will hold a minimum Level 1 Junior/Youth/Senior AFL Coaching Accreditation and a level 1 Talent Identification Accreditation or be willing to complete. Coupled with proven written and verbal communication skills you will have a commitment to all duties required and be able to adhere to time restrictions as highlighted.
