Swim Instructors are responsible for planning and delivering high quality swim lessons in a safe, fun and effective manner. Receptionists will be customer focused with excellent telephone manner with great communication skills, high level organisational and time management skills.

At Learn to Swim Victoria we aim to give the highest level of instruction to all our swimmers based on sound technique, so no matter where they want to go in the future, they are prepared for anything.

Developed by our Director, who has had over 25 years’ experience in the aquatics industry, our programs are facilitated by fully qualified expert staff. All, of our lessons take place in a comfortable, safe swim centre environment to maximise learning potential, so that we can bring the best out in your little champion.

Swim Instructors should have a complete knowledge and understanding of all aspects of teaching swimming and ensuring that safety and enjoyment is within their classes. Directly reporting to the General Manager, the Swim Instructor will be responsible for the safe evacuation of its participants in the case of an emergency.

LTSV Swim Instructors will have great oral and written communication skills, dealing with participants and the ability to resolve minor problems with the pool deck officers. They will be able to manage their time when conducting quality swimming lessons and minimise any disruptions to their classes. They will be relentless in quality instruction and champion customer service for maximum retention opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Working with Children Check or VIT Registration
  • Current AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia certificate
  • Current CPR

  • Demonstrate a growth mindset and positive role modelling
  • Demonstrate a high quality customer service focus
  • A passion with developing and working with children
  • Previous teaching experience

Desirable

  • Previous teaching experience in aquatic swim schools
  • Current Provide First Aid
  • Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics
  • Teacher of Competitive Strokes
  • Teacher of Adults
  • Teacher of Access and Inclusion
  • Bronze Coaching License

The LTSV Receptionists will have great communication skills, high level organisational and time management skills, strong computer knowledge and will not be afraid to use own ideas and initiative. You will be customer focused and have an excellent telephone manner. Lastly, promoting a positive culture of professionalism, equality, teamwork, accountability, and innovation amongst all team members within your area of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Working with Children Check or VIT Registration
  • Current Provide First Aid
  • Current CPR

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service role with a proactive, customer focused attitude
  • Possess excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to multi-task
  • Familiar with the recreation industry programs and services
  • A friendly, helpful nature with a willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong work ethic and dedication to their work
  • Ability to work autonomously and to work well within a team

Desirable

  • Marketing experience
  • Previous experience in aquatic swim schools

  • Knowledge of MS Software suite and use of POS transactions
  • Sound administrative skills including cash/float management
