Campus Life is responsible for the planning, construction and on-going operation of the University’s built environment and grounds. The Office also provides a range of ancillary and support services that encourage student engagement and provide essential amenities to staff, students and visitors of the university.

Griffith Sport forms part of Campus Life and provides a diverse range of sporting and recreational activities, services and facilities for staff, students and the external community.

The opportunity

The Manager, Aquatic & Fitness Mt Gravatt is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Aquatic centre, Fitness Centre, Field, Outdoor Courts and Rec Hall located on the Griffith University Mt Gravatt Campus. The position is required to engage with internal and external stakeholders optimising facility utilisation and performance. This position manages a full time Aquatics Program Coordinator who manages an extensive learn to swim program. The position is also responsible for a number of casual staff such as lifeguards, administration and personal trainers and  is a full time continuing position based at the Mt Gravatt campus.

This is a continuing, full time position based at the Mt Gravatt campus.

About you

The successful candidate will have highly developed communication, organisational, negotiation and administrative skills with demonstrated people management skills. They will be self-motivated and able to demonstrate a high level of individual initiative, discretion and judgement to perform duties independently and to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision. Experience in the management of sport facilities is required, ideally in aquatics.  Involvement in student based services would be advantageous.

Salary range

HEW 6: Salary $74,972 - $80,042 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $87,718 - $93,649 per annum.

  • Swimming Pool Plant Operation and Maintenance qualification
  • Previous working experience in a tertiary environment
