Event Manager

The Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust has the responsibility and privilege of managing our city’s original home of sport, the Sydney Cricket Ground. The SCG is an integral part of Sydney’s rich sporting and cultural life, attracting people from all over the world since the 1850s.

Working in events is a demanding profession, yet highly rewarding for those that excel. We are seeking applicants who are ambitious and passionate about the successful management of events at the SCG and at the new Allianz Stadium, which will be built by the NSW Government.

To be successful in this role you will have strong interpersonal and networking skills, remain calm under pressure and the ability to motivate others in a fast-paced environment. Events run Monday to Sunday, day, evening, weekends and public holidays so don’t expect to fall into the mainstream Monday to Friday; nine to five in this role.

We are looking for candidates who have a desire to constantly strive for improvements on the customer experience coupled with previous experience as an event manager in a fast-paced venue; along with formal qualifications in sports management and/or administration and previous exposure to event management software and ticketing systems.

If you are looking forward to the challenge of working in this dynamic industry at one of the foundation sites in world sport, then we want to hear from you. Benefits and a competitive salary package will be offered to the successful candidate.

An eye for detail is critical in managing events and this will be assessed in your ability to apply in accordance with the following desired skills:

  • Supreme ability to multitask;
  • Well organised but able to adjust on the fly;
  • Clear communication; and
  • An attitude of ‘yes’ to every challenge
