The Supervisor provides support & feedback on Umpiring performance in accordance with the Netball Victoria competencies framework.

  • Liaise with Umpires, Players & Spectators, FDNA Staff & Management and the general public
  • Handle complaints in a constructive & positive manner, and direct members to the appropriate process/person in a timely manner if unable to be resolved immediately.
  • Review Umpires schedule & previous feedback prior to the commencement of the first game.
  • Observe Umpires and provide coaching & feedback to assistant Umpires in line with Netball Victoria Competencies
  • Support Umpires to observe teams & ensure compliance with local by-laws and policies in relation to uniforms & other matters.
  • Liaise with Venue Supervisor to replace ill/injured umpires as required.
  • Attend matches where a complaint has been received.
  • Support Umpire &/or provide feedback on Umpiring performance as required.
  • Identify whether Coach, spectator or other patron is breaching Codes of Behavior toward Umpires.
  • Request player/patron to cease any inappropriate behavior, detailing relevant breach of Code of Behavior, By-law or Netball Victoria Competition Regulations.
  • Seek support from Venue Supervisor and/or Umpire Coordinator if matter cannot be resolved promptly & without further conflict.

Essential Requirements

  • Netball Victoria C Badge (minimum)
  • MyNetball online Mentoring course

Desirable Criteria

  • Netball Australia accredited Coaching qualification


Employer and Other Details

Uniform provided.

First Aid (HLTAID003) preferred.

Reports to Stadium Umpire Coordinator & Business Manager.
