As a Participation Leader, you will help to grow the sport of tennis in Victoria.

This position will be working throughout the Metro East region to service affiliated clubs of Tennis Victoria.  

You will play a key role in promoting and increasing the uptake of participation programs and services offered to our key stakeholders, helping drive more people to play the game, and ultimately achieving the national vision of connecting more people to Tennis.
About the role

As a Participation Leader, you will support our team in the following areas:

  • You will engage, influence, support, train, educate and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including club volunteers, venue operators, competition deliverers, administrators and councils.
  • Will provide services to all clubs within, and work closely with, three Local Government areas: Manningham, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges.
  • Influence, support and educate clubs to focus on accessibility and community benefits, whilst providing support on governance and sustainability for the club and venue
  • Promote the benefits of Tennis Victoria and national Tennis programs.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of stakeholders across a wide range of organisations including volunteers and LGA’s.
  • Demonstrated experience in sports administration, particularly dealing with Clubs, Associations and volunteer bodies.
  • High computer literacy with Microsoft suite and database management.
  • Understanding of the tennis environment and the various stakeholders, it engages.
  • Understanding of Club, Association and Regional development issues and external influences affecting the delivery of sport.
  • High-level organisational skill with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Experience in problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
