Position Overview:

The EFL has developed a position of considerable strength and standing in the delivery of community sport.

Each season the league conducts in excess of 4,500 matches involving over 500 football teams, 79 netball teams and over 15,000 registered players

The strength and integrity of the competition continues to be underpinned by the quality of the EFL's Clubs and the foundations of junior participation.

The Junior Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the leagues junior football competitions and providing football services, administrative support and guidance to clubs. The role requires a willingness to establish and maintain strong lines of communication with clubs and other stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide advice, training and support to clubs to ensure that each remains competent and viable
  • Deliver a graded community football competition for all ages and standards of football
  • Work collaboratively with development staff to Identify key opportunities for sustainable growth for the league and deliver participation targets
  • Support the Female Operations Manager to administer and maintain Eastern Region Girls competitions
  • Manage the league's Junior representative program
  • Manage EFL Junior events within revenue and expenditure budgets
  • Maintain the leagues rules and regulations
  • Maintain ongoing effective working relationships with AFL Victoria and maximize the services on offer to the league and its clubs
  • Manage and deliver accurate timely reporting to the General Manager- Football Operations
  • Work cooperatively with the Junior Committee
  • Support EFL managers in the implementation of their roles

Accountabilities:

  • Club viability
  • Participation growth targets are developed and achieved
  • Rules of the competition and by-laws remain appropriate and are effectively maintained.
  • Junior Interleague squads are properly managed and competitive
  • The leagues junior finals series are managed effectively and budgets attained

Requirements

  • Established background in the operation of an effective sporting organization
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or practical experience
  • Demonstrates innovation and willingness to challenge convention
  • Able to manage an extensive network of volunteers
  • High degree of communication and presentation skills
  • A high degree of attention to detail
  • A preparedness to work extended hours including weekends during periods when matches are fixtured

A flexible remuneration package will be negotiated with the right applicant.
