Game Day

  • Manage the Club’s home game fan engagement activations including the development of theme rounds and in-stadium entertainment
  • Plan and execute innovative game day initiatives designed to engage GIANTS members and fans
  • Maintain GIANTS No.1 Fan Experience title
  • Coordinate, integrate, and leverage commercial and community partnerships programs into the Game Day experience to maximise fan engagement and ensure we are achieving club’s objectives
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to maximise promotional activities on Game Day, including membership, corporate, merchandise and community partnerships
  • Adhere to AFL guidelines and seek approvals from all relevant stakeholders for Game Day activities
  • Produce game day run sheets
  • Ensure all Game Day activities adhere to the AFL and GIANTS OH&S guidelines and Risk Assessments produced for each event
  • Work with GIANTS media department to create social campaigns that increase awareness and drive increased game day attendance
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including the AFL, AFL NSW / ACT, Opposition Clubs, Stadium suppliers including audio visual and signage contractors
  • As and when required coordinate and develop a group of Experience interns
  • Provide up to date reports or feedback as requested to ensure the success and smooth running of Game Days
  • Maintain the Game Day budget spreadsheet that forms a basis of all Game Day activity

Game Day Events

  • Oversee the development and management of the Club’s home games’ pre-match events including the development of themes, entertainment and production ensuring that client expectations are exceeded
  • Oversee and assist in the production of on ground events in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders
  • Manage all Club sponsor programmes and ensure they are integrated into Pre-Match Events as required and that all sponsor commitments and or exclusive arrangements are delivered to sponsor expectations
  • Manage staffing requirements for all corporate Events ensuring effective communication and service levels to meet the satisfaction of customers
  • Ensure all Club sponsor programs are integrated into functions as required and that all sponsor commitments are delivered to expectations
  • Ensure the smooth running of Pre, Half Time and Post Match Events
  • Ensure suitable follow up on all game day events including auctions and business card draw
  • Manage and reconcile the Game Day Hospitality Budget ensuring events are delivered within Budget Guidelines

Corporate Events

  • Manage the development of the Club’s annual events calendar in conjunction with the Events Executive and Head of Marketing & Experience
  • Meet agreed budget and other event targets
  • Liaise with artists/entertainment on requirements where necessary
  • Ensure the smooth running of events by overseeing all activities on the day
  • Manage advertising and marketing of each event wherever necessary
  • Communicate events to internal stakeholders
  • Ensure suitable follow up post events
  • Manage the Club’s day to day relationships with venue’s, caterers, A/V suppliers, theming companies, entertainment agencies and other stakeholders as required, ensuring that all services meet the standards expected by the Club
  • Ensure GIANT marketing objectives are achieved wherever necessary
  • Comply with the GIANTS Code of Conduct and all other policies and procedures adopted from time to time.
  • Comply with, foster, encourage, and where required, coordinate cleaning, hygiene and WHS standards procedures, guidelines and housekeeping as supplied.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven successful experience in developing, managing, planning and executing a wide spectrum of events occurring in close proximity to one another in a fast paced, pressurised environment (minimum 4 years’ experience)
  • A demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and report budgets
  • Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or similar would be desirable
  • Be accredited in First Aid
  • Have understanding, awareness and experience in WHS & Risk Management requirements and processes
  • Ability to transfer creative ideas into an outcome
  • Experience and skills in budget forecasting and management
  • Ability to work under pressure within strict timeframes
  • Proven ability to engage and influence people internally and externally
  • Background in working with others to achieve outcomes
  • Skilled in Project Management
  • Excellent written and personal communication skills
  • Competent in full Microsoft Office suite
