The AIS Division is responsible for leading and enabling a united high performance system that supports Australian athletes to achieve podium success. As part of the AIS Operations team, AIS Sport Medicine provides system leadership and clinical and organisational support to Australia’s high performance system. We operate on a flexible and agile model to provide the right support to the right athletes at the right time. We provide system leadership on matters of integrity, the health & welfare of athletes and excellence in delivery of sports medicine services.
In consultation with the Chief Medical Officer, you will drive and implement the AIS strategic agenda to achieve section and business outcomes including provision of medical services to Australian high performance athletes at the Canberra AIS campus and as required to athletes in other locations in Australia and overseas. You will supervise medical and nursing staff, oversee the in-house medical education program and direct daily operational functions in the section. You will contribute to provision of medical services at the AIS European Training Centre.
If this role sounds like you, please note our candidate should also possess:
- MB, BS degree or equivalent
- AHPRA Registration to practice medicine in Australia
- Fellowship of the Australasian College of Sport & Exercise Physicians (FACSEP) or equivalent
- Documented sports medicine experience with evidence of team care and events coverage
This position is based in Canberra and will be offered as a full time, 4 year fixed term contract.
Salary range = $200,000 - $215,000 per annum plus superannuation.
