Brighton Recreational Centre is a non-profit community-based organisation providing recreational, educational, cultural and sporting activities to reflect the needs of all age groups in the local community. More than 2,000 people each week enjoy the Centre’s safe, friendly and stimulating environment in which each individual is able to achieve their goals through participation in their chosen activity - regardless of skill level.
The Centre Manager is supported by a highly engaged Board of Directors and a dedicated team of staff.
The Centre operates under a licence agreement with the Bayside City Council and is a member of the Bayside Cluster of Community Centres. Within the charter, the Centre offers a number of programs including Gymnastics, Child Care, School Holiday Programs and Venue Hire.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Centre Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Centre including the development and implementation of an efficient, safe and educational program for the local community. This hands-on role encompasses a wide variety of responsibilities including administration, marketing, planning staff management and financial control.
The Centre Manager will also have a strong focus on business development and revenue growth. This will be achieved through the development and delivery of a strategic and marketing plan; fostering partnerships with current and potential user groups; and ensuring the Centre provides a contemporary offering of programs that meets local changing needs as well as ensuring the facility is optimally utilised.
To be considered for this role you will be experienced in the operational management of a community/education facility or sport club. With a strong track-record in marketing and business development, you will be driven by business growth, and able to work autonomously within a set budget towards defined KPIs.
The role requires a contemporary and innovative leader with the ability to swiftly build relationships and credibility with staff, members, stakeholders, user groups and the wider local community, whilst maintaining the Centre’s family feel.
A background in gymnastics or childcare/education will be an advantage but is not essential; however you must be committed to providing strong foundations for the growth of the Centre.
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to manage and develop a thriving community venue, with a focus on reinvigorating the services and programs to meet the needs of the community and user groups.
This is a full time position. The role requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to cater for the needs and operations of the Centre and its users.
