Where do you fit in the industry?
People working in sport, fitness and aquatics jobs in Australia and New Zealand are being called upon to participate in a national survey mapping employment and salary trends for the sector.
Data emerging from the survey includes the differences in full time salaries paid in the sectors. Employees in the aquatic sector fare best, being paid on average 2% more than the sport sector and 6.5% more than the fitness sector. Employees in the fitness sector are paid the least (on average 4.5% less than the sport sector) however receive the highest frequency of benefits on top of their salary.

New Interviews at "Two Minutes with ..."
Ever wanted a career tip from someone who has already made it in their chosen profession? Maybe you have wanted to know what qualification might put you on the road to success?
 |
At “Two minutes with …” we are regularly adding interviews and career tips from leading professionals working in the sport, fitness, aquatics, coaching, venues, events, leisure and lifestyle sector. Each guest responds to a number of questions covering career, inspirations, qualifications and passions. Our questions are broken into three groups from which they are invited to respond to a total of ten.
|
You'll see from the responses that all of these people have a keen sense of purpose and dedication to their jobs, mixed with a good sense of humour when responding to some of the more 'light-hearted' questions asked.
Our latest addition is Ian Swan, Chief Executive Officer of Aquatics and Recreation Victoria.

Community Sport jobs FREE service taking off
Sportspeople has had a great response with Community Sporting Organisations promoting their job vacancies as part of the FREE service launched earlier this year.
Until now, there has been no reliable or cost-effective place to advertise these important Community Sport roles. That's why we have developed the category of Community Sport to sit alongside Volunteer, Intern/Traineeships and of course, the salaried, professional career opportunities available at the Sportspeople Jobs Market. And best of all, if it is a Community Sport, Volunteer or Intern/Trainee role, it is absolutely free to list at the Sportspeople Jobs Market. This service is our way to acknowledge and support this important sector.
If you have a role which fits within our definition of Community Sport, Volunteer or Intern/Traineeship, you can now list for FREE. And there's no limit to the number of roles you can list.
