Sportspeople Jobs Market continues to bring employers and job seekers together
In early 1999 Sportspeople launched the Sportspeople Jobs Market, bringing employers and job seekers together through an on-line Job Board. When we launched the website it?s fair to say none of us could have predicted the future impact of the internet and in particular how it would change the way people search for work and how employers advertise jobs.
According to recent ANZ Job Advertisement Series data, online employment advertising grew by 21% in 2006 while employment advertising in print declined 2%. Newspoll (2006) research shows more people now choose to use the internet rather than a newspaper to search for a job. These shifts are reflected in the advertising and visits at the Sportspeople Jobs Market. The number of jobs advertised at the Sportspeople Jobs Market has increased 62% in the last 12 months alone while the number of unique visitors has increased 60% over the same period.
In April, 2006 we launched the new-look Sportspeople website including a suite of search and list improvements for jobs seekers and employers. Over the last 12 months we?ve introduced Sportspeople Learning, Job Seeker Subscription, Volunteer Positions, Career, Featured Job, Who Got That Job, Email A Friend and Apply-Online and a host of new features designed to make the Sportspeople website a ?one-stop-shop? for anyone working in sport, fitness, aquatics, leisure, coaching, events and venues.
We have a number of enhancements presently in development and plan to have these available progressively throughout 2007. Like all the features already available at the Sportspeople website, these enhancements are designed to bring employers and job seekers together in a no-fuss, friendly and easy to use environment.
If you haven?t been to the Sportspeople website for a while, why not take a look around at what?s available?
