The role

Our Rowing Team is seeking a Lead Development Coach. This opportunity will be responsible for the development and performance of the Junior and Learn-to-Row squads as well as overseeing the logistics, repairs and maintenance of the Pymble Ladies’ College rowing program assets and facilities. 

This is a full-time permanent opportunity that will be based at our Leichardt rowing sheds and Pymble Ladies’ College. The position will require some weekend work and attendance at all regattas and training camps.

The Boatshed management component of the role will require physical work. This will involve repair of all rowing equipment including electronics, trailers, motorboats, outboard motors, and oars. Experience with fleet management is desirable, we are open to candidates who may not have this knowledge but a willingness to learn.

You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:

  • Drive, energy and experience inspiring with motivating students
  • Minimum 3 years coaching experience in the sport of rowing
  • Proven and successful track record of coaching rowing at secondary school level
  • Minimum Level 1 Rowing Coach qualifications
  • Light Rigid License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Boat License - ability to drive a speedboat
  • Ability to undertake basic to intermediate boat repairs (or a willingness to learn)
  • Experience towing a boat trailer (or a willingness to learn)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and encourage young people
  • Willingness to support the ethos and values of the College
