Would you enjoy being part of the Aquatic Programs Team at Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre in the Hills? The complex includes a 10-lane 50m outdoor Olympic-sized pool, additional 25m outdoor pool and two indoor learn to swim and leisure pools, and a fully equipped fitness centre.

About the role

The Hills Shire Council are currently looking to employ enthusiastic, committed, and suitable individuals to join our team.

Qualified Swim Instructors

Flexibility to work during the program hours, weekdays 4:00pm = 8:00pm and/or Saturday 12:00pm = 4:00pm.

Qualified Swim Coach

Available to coach at least two (2) mornings and up to four (4) afternoons a week, with the flexibility to coach on Saturday mornings and attend targeted meets where required.

Suitable candidates will be responsible for the skill development of swimmers with a range of skill levels to achieve outcomes through training programs that meet the program criteria and the individual swimmer’s goals.

Essential Criteria:

1. Prior experience in swim teaching.
2. Relevant Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification and/or Swim Coaching qualification.
3. First Aid - (HLTAID011)
4. NSW Working with Children Check

Position details:

Casual role, wages from $34.79 to $37.59 per hour including casual loading + weekend penalty rates + Superannuation. Junior casual rates applicable for under 19 years of age.

Employment will be subject to clearance on the following pre-employment checks: Psychometric Testing, Reference Checks, Identity Check, Drug and Alcohol Screening and Medical Check, and may also include a Criminal History and Working with Children Check.
