HOURS OF WORK: Full-time

TERM: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Gymnastics NSW is the peak body responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of gymnastics in New South Wales.  

Gymnastics NSW is an affiliate member of Gymnastics Australia and services over 72,000 members and 200 clubs across NSW. The Association has experienced 16 years consecutive growth, building the capacity and capability to deliver ongoing innovative services to its members and affiliated clubs. 

Objectives of Gymnastics NSW  

The objectives of Gymnastics New South Wales are to: 

  • Encourage, develop, promote and control the study and practice of gymnastics as an art form and sport for the people of New South Wales.  
  • To promote participation in Gymsports as beneficial to physical, mental and social well-being. 
  • Regulate, supervise, coordinate and promote all Gymsports activities, programs, competitions and events  

Role Purpose 

The purpose of the role is to oversee and manage the development of programs specifically relating to the growth and engagement of participants, predominantly recreational members, and lead the development of products and resources.

Specific Duties 

  • Oversee and manage the development and implementation of participation products to increase and drive engagement.
  • Identify opportunities within the sport of Gymnastics in NSW for growth and increased participation.
  • Work closely with the Sport and Events team and Business Development team to update, develop and execute participation programs.
  •  Consult with the gymnastics community including; clubs, regional committees and gymsport committees to identify, address and test needs of the sport.
  • Update, develop and deliver resources, training tools and group education modules for programs being piloted or implemented.
  •  Lead the piloting of programs providing support to the gymnastics community as required.
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Utilise data and feedback to determine capacity and capability for growth based on evidence.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and varying priorities.  
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to the CEO regarding the development of the participation programs.

Success Profile

Experience

  • 3+ years experience working in sport or project management
  • Experience influencing people to achieve outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead develop and implement projects from start to finish
  • Experience engaging and managing internal and external stakeholders for mutual benefit
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and disseminate data to make evidence based decisions

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Relevant tertiary qualification eg. Sports Management, Business Development
  • Intermediate/advance knowledge of MS Office
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current drivers licence
